Absolutely not! All our products are lab tested for stability and then tested in hotties, not bunnies!
Although we always use safe levels of essentials oils within the dermal levels recommended by the EU, and our formulas are free of parabens, sulfates and other harsh chemicals, we always recommend doing a patch test to make sure you're good to go.

Absolutely! All Ujala's creations are exclusively plant-based or mineral based, and we don't use animal-derived ingredients in our formulas.
We don't use palm oil as an ingredient, however, some emulsifiers or emollients contain palm oil derivatives. We carefully source our ingredients and make sure that whenever they are palm-derived, they are also certified sustainable.
The Vitamin C content on Ujala's Vitamin C Serum comes from fruit extracts, so we don't give our serum a specific vitamin c percentage. This is because the amount of Vitamin C between individual fruits varies (eg. Every lime is completely different to the next). More important than the percentage, is the long term availability of Vitamin C in our serum.Generally, the Vitamin C content on mainstream serums comes from a synthetic purified form of ascorbic acid. Studies have shown that, typically, the percentage of synthetic Ascorbic Acid (vitamin c), used in the vast majority of vitamin c serums, decreases in 20-80 days. This means a product may be batched with a high percentage of Vitamin C but that amount will steadily decrease over a short period of shelflife. Whereas, the naturally-occurring Vitamin C inside our serum is stable and holds steady for over 2 years.

The short answer is NO!

Lye is an alkali solution that creates soap when reacting with oils (fat). All soap is made with lye, but there's no lye on the final product that you receive in your home because all of it reacted with the highly nutritious plant-based oils to form soap.

Our soaps are handmade using the cold-process method, which means that we free-formulate our soaps according to the result we would like to achieve from the final bar.

As our skin ages or is exposed to harsh environmental factors it becomes less effective at desquamation, which is the process of old skin cells shedding. Dead and dehydrated skin cells tend to accumulate on the surface. This causes dullness, fine lines, overproduction of oil, congestion, blackheads, dryness and inhibits products absorption.
Acne may come in many skin types, for different reasons.Dry skin may experience hormonal acne, and dehydrating the skin by avoiding to moisturise will only aggravate the problem."True acne" refers to the skin condition that affects the hair follicles and oil glands. The sebum overproduction in this skin type will limit the oil from flowing to the surface of the skin and become part of the protective barrier function. For this particular skin type, some oils in various forms are consiedered to be ‘comedogenic’ and will further block the sebum glands accelerating breakouts. Our products are formulated with non-comedogenic oils and esthers and are designed to balance oil production by providing a balanced synergy of Omega 3,6,9 Essential Fatty Acids.
Hormonal breakouts generally appear on the jaw line, chin and sometimes around the mouth. They are often cystic, red and sore but are sometimes large bumps underneath the skins surface.Digestive breakouts are usually on the cheeks and the middle of the forehead and will appear as pustules or papules.Congestion, blackheads and other small bumps on the skin’s surface generally occur from dehydration, a lack of exfoliation or incorrect product usage and are an accumulation of oil underneath the surface of the skin.

Plant-based ingredients work in the same way that nutrients work in our food. Our bodies will absorb what they require. Antioxidants, polyphenols, flavonoids and vitamins assist with skin maintenance and cellular regeneration and can act as free radical deterrents creating a sustainable impact upon the entire organism.

On the skin level, natural ingredients nurture the skin contributing to its overall health, texture and appearance.

As with any skincare product, it may take from 14 days to 2 or 3 months to see visible effects on your skin.

The good result of skincare products also depends on how does your lifestyle (drinking plenty of water, good sleep, etc) affects or causes your skin concerns.

Our skin is very permeable, and it's the biggest organ in our bodies. It absorbs good nutrients just as well as chemicals, heavy metals and toxins.

Exposure to small amounts of various toxins every day accumulate in the tissues and organs of your body and the consequences may take years to manifest. Recent scientific studies show that a lot of chemicals are toxic even at very low doses and scientists have already proved that toxins present in skincare and makeup impact negatively on our system causing issues like hormonal imbalance and even cancer. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, your baby is even more susceptible to absorbing the chemicals present in your self-care routine products, that's why opting for natural self-care is a wise and conscious choice with impacts on your beauty and your lifestyle.

We knew you're gonna ask this.

Many brands sell bars claiming them to be soap-free soaps, but they're not actually true soap.

Soap-free soaps are usually made with synthetic surfactants, that more often than not are petroleum-based and non-biodegradable.

Not only surfactants are made from the double processing of fossil fuels, they tend to strip the skin from its oils, interfering with your body's microbiome and your skin's natural protective barrier.

Whether you're on a tight budget or you're simply choosing for a simple, hassle-free, routine, the basics are pretty much all your skin needs.

1. Cleanse: removing dirt, pollution particles, sweat, toxins and excess oils is imperative to prepare your skin to receive and absorb your skincare. Double cleansing every evening is strongly recommended, even if you have dry or sensitive skin. Using an oil cleanser that will bind and eliminate all oil particles while nourishing and protecting the skin is always a plus on any basic skincare routine.

2. Moisturise: hydrating your skin is just as important as hydrating your internal organs. After all, your skin IS your biggest organ. Healthy water levels help your skin regenerate and renew, being an essential part of antiageing.

3. Sunscreen: is crucial in any skincare routine to protect from harmful UV damage that could cause future skin complications like loss of collagen, pigmentation, dehydration, fine lines, wrinkles, barrier impairment, sensitives and skin cancers.

We also recommend exfoliating your skin from time to time to keep skin regenerating at optimal speed.
